I have had countless media conversations with my entrepreneurial mentor, Chief Michael Orobosa Ubogu, the Managing Director of Micura Services Limited and multiple award-winning maritime technocrat, he has always mentioned Comrade Adewale Adeyanju,President-General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria(MUNN) and board member of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund(NSITF) as his bonafide mentor whose exemplary leadership style has motivated him to be proactive in the maritime sector.

Recently, I stumbled into one online publication where Comrade Adewale Adeyanju’s profile was briefly written on his legacy leadership in the maritime sector over the years.

During his election into the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Chief Ubogu was so committed to his election and I asked him few questions and he told me Comrade Adewale Adeyanju is a detribalized Yoruba man whose transparent activism to see that dockworkers, seafarers,NPA and shipping workers are not short-charged  by their employers.

As a former President of Dockworkers branch of the maritime industry, he brought enviable leadership to the association that propelled him into a higher office.

According to Chief Michael Ubogu while speaking on the legacy leadership of Comrade Adeyanju sometime ago, he said, he is a father and brother that has love for proactive and creative leadership development in the maritime industry. He is humble and intelligent to the core. We are one family and nothing more.

When it comes to vibrant unionism on how to make maritime workers enjoy their benefits, Comrade Adeyanju is a living legend that has fought for the emancipation of dockworkers for the past years till date. He set up MWUN elders’ committee forum to put ideas together to move the union forward.

His style of leadership at the union is worthy of emulation to the core.

President Buhari never made a mistake of making him as board member of NSITF with the kind of leadership commendations from his followers and fans.

Late last year, I met Comrade Adewale Adeyanju at his wife’s 53rd birthday bash at Festac Town, Lagos; I saw humility tucked in him. He was so elated seeing the galaxy of maritime gurus gracing the event. He was not carried away by the crowd but always finding time to identify every guest in the event and showed appreciation.

A good leader is known by exhibiting quality leadership styles in the public. Comrade Adeyanju is a principled personality that knows the value of leadership and followership in a modern society.

Many a time, I have watched Comrade Adeyanju spoke on national television stations concerning minimum wage, he has always be objective and insightful in public discourse.

No wonder, he is being loved by old and young maritime moguls that want to see innovative progress in his leadership. He is a brand in the maritime sector in Africa.

He had his educational training at Yaba College of Technology. He is a brilliant unionist that has love for philanthropy and humanity in Africa. He has received prestigious Nigerian Maritime Living Legend Award.

Chief Ubogu has always commended his leadership style to Gabriovoice.com and Mindset Media Limited. He is happily married to a beautiful wife and blessed with lovely children.
