The Isoko Christian Association of Nigeria (ICAON),Isoko Ministers’ forum, Lagos chapter recently marked its maiden edition on the need for Nigerians to pray ahead of the 2019 elections. It was a galaxy of top Nigerian pastors gathering in one hall to pray for the unity, progress and peace of the country.

While delivering a short text paper presented by the President of ICAON,Bishop Matthew Egwowa, a renowned Nigeria clergy cum columnist said Nigeria is faced with different kinds of security threats; economy, population explosion, cultural diversity and others. If these threats persist and they are not checked right now, in 2020, Nigeria’s population would have been exploded more than China population. With the level of poverty in the land, much still give birth to children they cannot cater for as parents.

Egwowa said the problem is that, there is no unity of love in the Christian body over the years. We must stop preaching down our fellow preachers and embrace love among ourselves now, he warned.

Bishop John Odiete, general overseer of Christ Peculiar Church International who was a special guest of honour in the event, also called all Nigerian pastors to live as one family as Christ Jesus liveth while on earth. What we need in the body of Christ is love and peace among us and nothing more.

Bishop Olushola Ore, the present Lagos State PFN chairman, said it is a good move to pray for Nigeria as a country. Nigerian leaders over the years have taken preachers and Christians for granted as a result of disunity among us preachers in the country. We must come together as a people in Nigeria to pray for peace ahead of the 2019 elections, he said.

Guest preachers and gospel artists that attended the event were Bishop Benedict Eto,Rev.J Akpos,Rev Ororometa,Rev.Dr Aroviethe,Bishop Ifieonu,Bishop John Omomuwho,Pastor(Mrs)Ilaya,Bishop Andrew Peters,Bishop E.J Oterai and others. Gospel artists also thrilled the congregation with  Niger-Delta songs and as different prayer sessions were offered to intercede for Lagos State government,Isoko,Delta State and Nigeria. Media houses in attendance were Gabriovoicenews.com/Mindset Media Limited, Isoko Mirror and the Guardian Newspaper.
