“Politics is all about affecting your neighbourhood positively in all ramifications”-Hon.Rita Orji

On January 15th, 2019, Hon. Rita Odichimma Orji, member representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency and Chairperson House Committee on Diaspora Matters, brought together topnotch People’s Democratic Party (PDP) players and women groups in Amuwo-Odofin in Festac Town, Lagos, to reaffirm their political commitment ahead of February and March elections across the country.

According to Hon.Rita Orji, the iron lady of Ajeromi-Ifelodun politics who came into the political landscape in 2015 elections to change the political narrative and won the ruling political party in the local government by dint of hardwork, networking and grassroots politicking.

With the kind of upscale event hosted by Hon.Rita Orji recently at Amuwo-Odofin constituency shows her uncommon political commitment to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and women leadership in Africa.

Having taken my precious time to understudy the political movement of Hon.Rita Orji for the past three years, I saw huge political tenacity tucked in her life and with selfless service to humanity.

As a grassroots media consultant cum serial blogger, Hon.Orji is one of the few female politicians I had met before she contested for 2015 elections and remains a woman who is resilient to positive grassroots representation.

It is not a surprise seeing the galaxy of PDP top political contestants converging in one venue to unite and strategize the South-South, South East and Arewa women in Diaspora through the indefatigable and kind-hearted legislator,Hon,Orji, a woman that is passionate about grassroots politics in Nigeria.

The likes of Mr.Jimi Agbaje,Lagos PDP governorship candidate and Vice Presidential candidate of PDP,Sir.Peter Obi,Barr.Jennifer Atiku,Belema Secondus and Margret Obi could not hide their political feelings towards Hon.Rita Orji as they described her as an “Iron Lady of grassroots politics in Africa” that elicited the crowd.

It was a moment of another true political reflection that saw Hon.Orji as a real grassroots female politician that is ready to take the party to victory come February and March elections.

She is one grassroots female politician that trusts people easily at first contact but loses interest when people she tries to rely on politically or otherwise play fast one on her.

For such most-attended event to be hosted outside her constituency with mammoth crowd shows that she is not a passerby politician that cannot be taken for granted on February 16 in Ajeromi-Ifelodun.

She has been an advocate of peaceful elections in the National Assembly deliberating on issues concerning security challenges across the country.

Once again, kudos to a daring legislator that knows how her to mobilize for grassroots leadership in Africa. She remains a politician with impeccable character to the core.
